Upsides for gas prices have emerged in North Asia, where summer appears to be hotter than normal. While hurricane Beryl had no noticeable impact on US LNG exports and global gas prices, prolonged heatwaves in countries like Japan, China or South Korea “may break the well-balanced market,” warns Rystad Energy’s vice president Wei Xiong.
