US asset manager Franklin Templeton has hired Spencer Seto from rival Janus Henderson for a newly created role as head of North Asia for institutional business.
He will be responsible for leading the firm’s institutional sales and consultant and client relationship efforts in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea.
He is based in Hong Kong and reports to Tariq Ahmad, head of Asia Pacific, Franklin Templeton says in a statement on February 6.
Seto was head of institutional sales for Asia ex-Japan at Janus Henderson, and has also held senior roles at PGIM, State Street Global Advisors, and HSBC Global Asset Management,
California-based Franklin Templeton had around US$1.5 trillion of assets under management as of December 2023.
