HSBC Asset Management (HSBC AM) has announced a number of appointments to its executive team in Asia Pacific.
Masayuki Kaneko, who is currently CEO of HSBC AM in Japan, has also been appointed as head of institutional sales for North Asia.
The additional role will enable him to focus on Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
He succeeds Brenda Wong who has left the company for personal reasons.
HSBC AM has also created the new role of CEO for Hong Kong, mainly to allow Daisy Ho to focus on her responsibility as CEO, Asia Pacific.
A selection process is currently underway while Jasmine Hung, head of pensions strategic partnership, Hong Kong, has been appointed as acting CEO.
HSBC AM is also looking for a replacement for Hsin Chiao, former general manager and CEO for Taiwan, who has left the company.
His role will be filled by Chris Lin, executive vice president and head of client coverage until a successor is appointed.
