(L-R) Denver Annunciation and his brother Janus
Janus International, a known name in the packaging industry, has opted for a Domino K600i print engine for embellishing labels using UV-curable clear ink. The Domino K600i is a fast and versatile printer, capable of reaching speeds up to 150 meters per minute. It’s ideal for printing variable data and can handle special tasks such as digital decorations and secure printing with special inks.
Founded by the late Joe Annunciation in the 1990s, Janus International provides comprehensive packaging solutions tailored to the diverse needs of its clientele. “We are not merely a packaging printer; we are solution providers,” says Denver Annunciation, director of strategic initiatives at Janus International. Our focus has always been on understanding the unique challenges faced by our clients and delivering innovative, customized solutions that exceed their expectations.”
Under Denver, Janus International became the first company in India to install a digital label press in 2008. “We took a risk, ventured into uncharted territories, and the rest is history,” says Denver, reflecting on the moment that propelled Janus to the forefront of technological advancement in packaging.
With a beginning as a corrugated business, Janus transitioned into label printing. Today, the company offers a wide array of services, including pressure-sensitive labels, non-adhesive labels for beer bottles, mono cartons, shrink sleeves, in-mold labels, and laminates – serving a wide range of industries, including alcobev, cosmetics, foods, etc.
“Janus International’s journey wouldn’t be complete without acknowledging the invaluable partnership with Domino Printech India. We were exploring a solution that would enhance the look and feel of our labels and our overall value. With a shared vision of innovation and customer-centricity, Domino has been an instrumental ally in Janus International’s quest for excellence. They offered their customized Domino K600i print engine for doing embellishments on our labels using UV-curable clear ink. The equipment can do digital cold foil and digital varnish, which enhances the look and feel of the labels as desired by our customers,” Denver said.
The seamless integration of Domino’s printing technology with Janus International’s innovative solutions has upgraded the packaging solutions it offers, Denver said. The technology is supported by a dedicated team of experts and round-the-clock assistance. Both companies ensure customers receive prompt solutions and maximum uptime, reinforcing their reputation as reliable partners.
Ajay RaoRane, vice-president, Digital Printing Solutions at Domino India, said, “We are proud to collaborate with Janus International, which shares our passion for innovation and customer satisfaction,” The Domino K600i customized solution for embellishment applications was possible because of the trust Janus International has put in Domino and we are confident that we can deliver the desired solution for their needs, it’s a collaborative effort from both the companies.”
Packaging South Asia — resilient, growing and impactful — daily, monthly — always responsive
The multi-channel B2B in print and digital 17-year-old platform matches the industry’s growth trajectory. The Indian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and Middle East packaging industries are looking beyond the resilience of the past three years. They are resuming capacity expansion and diversification, with high technology and automation in new plants and projects.
As we present our 2024 publishing plan, India’s real GDP growth for the financial year ending 31 March 2024 will exceed 6%. The packaging industry growth will match the GDP growth in volume terms and surpass it by at least 3% in terms of nominal growth allowing for price inflation in energy, raw materials, consumables, and capital equipment.
The capacity for flexible film manufacturing in India increased by 45% over the past four years. With orders in place, we expect another 20% capacity addition in 2024 and 2025. Capacities in monocartons, corrugation, aseptic liquid packaging, and labels are growing similarly. As the consumption story returns over the next six months, we expect demand to return and exceed the growth trajectory of previous years. The numbers are positive for most of the economies in the region – and as shown by our analytics, our platform increasingly reaches and influences these.
For responsible and sustainable packaging, with its attendant regulations and compliances, there is significant headroom to grow in India and the region. Our coverage includes the entire packaging supply chain – from concept to shelf and to waste collection, sorting, and recycling.
We target brand owners, product managers, raw material suppliers, packaging designers and converters, and recyclers. This is a large and complex canvas – the only thing that can work is your agile thinking and innovation together with our continuous learning and persistence.
The coming year looks to be an up year in this region, and this is the right time to plan your participation and marketing communication – in our rich and highly targeted business platform with human resources on the ground. Share your thoughts and plans to inspire and mobilize our editorial and advertising teams!
