Har Jeong Gai (fried fermented prawn paste chicken in Cantonese) is a popular dish to order when having zi char (stir-fry). Now, you can have variations of this crunchy savoury fare from the Michelin-starred-chef co-helmed Har Har Chicken! in Singapore.
The spotlight shines brightly on Har Jeong Gai at Har Har Chicken!. A casual takeaway kiosk concept conceived by esteemed local culinary figures – LG Han of Michelin-starred Restaurant Labyrinth, Lennard Yeong, restauranteur Tay Jianli, and investment professional Bevin Desker – expect nothing but umami-rich chicken creations on its menu.
Har Har Chicken! will open at Junction 8, Bishan, on 5 July 2024.
What’s on the menu of Har Har Chicken! in Singapore
Elevating Har Jeong Gai from a side dish to the starring role, fried chicken remains the hero product throughout the concise menu. Customers can choose small bites if they are feeling peckish or substantial sets for a full meal.
Har Har Wings Har Har Wings.
The ubiquitous fried fermented prawn-paste chicken is certainly loved by many.
Here, the Har Har Wings are made with whole wings marinated and coated in a har cheong batter before fried to crispy perfection. Choose from one or six pieces depending on your appetite for the day.
Har Har Pops Har Har Pops.
Those who prefer something easy to snack on can opt for the boneless Har Har Pops (S$4.80). Akin to popcorn chicken, these treats are a flavour bomb with every bite. It is served with mayonnaise or chicken rice chilli.
Har-burger Har-burger (Non-spicy).
Featuring a generous piece of golden har cheong cutlet, the juicy burger (S$7.30) comes completed with refreshing tomato and lettuce that’s sandwiched between fluffy buns. Spice fans can select the spicy version, enhanced by the Sriracha mayo instead of regular eggy mayo. Top up an additional amount for a set meal with fries.
