Mangaluru: The South India Masters Athletics Association is gearing up to host the South Asia Masters Athletics Championship in Mangaluru in Jan next year. According to organisers, nearly 2,000 athletes from various parts of Asia are likely to participate in the event, which will be held at the Mangala Stadium from Jan 10 to 12.
Association general secretary Udaya Kumar Shetty told reporters here on Tuesday, that they expect the participation of nearly 2,000 athletes from India and other parts of the world in the South Asia Masters Athletics Championship 2025.
MLC Ivan D’Souza will be monitoring the preparations and for the smooth conduct of the athletics meet as the honorary president of the association. “All arrangements will be in place to ensure free food and accommodation for the participants from other states,” he said. Association president Surendra Shetty, vice-presidents Premanath Shetty and Gouri Shankar were present.
