In September 2024, the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Centre hosted a two-day training workshop in collaboration with UNODC’s Information Centre for Researching and Analyzing Transnational Threats. The workshop brought together thirty participants from across Central Asia, including heads and officers from national authorities involved in combatting drug trafficking.
The primary focus of the training was on enhancing data collection, analysis, and exchange related to illicit drug trafficking along the ”northern route”. Key topics addressed during the workshop included global drug trafficking trends, early warning mechanisms, risks associated with NPS, as well as methods for improving data quality and availability.
